NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Gala Review + Swatches

NYX Gala

Last week, I decided to make a cruelty-free page on my blog, so I’m taking this opportunity to spotlight one of my favorite cruelty-free products, NYX extra creamy round lipstick. The shade I’m reviewing is called “Gala.” I feel like when it comes to reviewing, many people bypass Gala in favor of reviewing the NYX shade Strawberry Milk, which is touted as a popular dupe for YSL’s Lingerie Pink. Gala is a pretty shade in its own right. It is described by the NYX website as a “soft blue-toned pink.” I don’t find the blue undertone to be overbearing and the color skews more toward a neutral than a lavender pink.

The lipstick itself lives up to its name for being creamy. It is neither slimy or sticky or drying or moisturizing. It gives great, opaque color with just one swipe. The packaging is a little light weight, but to sell it for this price, I’m glad they skimped on the packaging and not the awesome formula. And the best part? It’s a mere $4.00. NYX is available at some Targets, but you will get a far wider selection if you hit up Ulta.

So that’s it for the review! Will you pick up one of these shades? What’s your favorite cruelty-free product? Let me know in the comments section.

    • i agree! I wish they had a bigger selection in Target, because I hate driving all the way out to Ulta to see all their products

  1. Very pretty! I have one of these-it’s probably me sucking at lip products but the one I have in particular just doesn’t do it for me. It seems SO slippery on me that it doesn’t seem to stay in place! It’s also a dark color. I think I’ll just need to work with it a bit more 🙂
