Origins GinZing Eye Cream Review

I’ve been putting off this review for a while. Why? Because, I’ve heard plenty of good things about Origins GinZing eye cream, but at my age, eye creams are more about preventing damage than “fixing” any problems. (P.S.-you should use an eye cream if you don’t already. The skin around your eyes is delicate and the first place to show signs of aging.) That being said, I’ll do my best to review this product and I encourage anyone who has used it to comment below and tell me their experience.

Origins GinZing

The Claim: This eye cream should brighten, depuff and visibly reduce dark circles instantly.

My Experience: Counter to the claims, I did not notice this reducing my under eye circles at all, let alone instantly. It’s harder to rate whether it reduced puffiness since my eyes don’t tend to be puffy in the morning, and even when they are, the puffiness goes down quick on its own. I did, however, notice that it brightened my eyes somewhat and most importantly, kept my under eye area well hydrated.

A Little Goes a Long Way: Something to consider when purchasing this product: as an eye cream, it only covers a small area. That means a small tub will last you. This 0.17 oz sample from Sephora lasted me over 2 months.

Price: $30.00 for 0.5 oz.

Cruelty-Free: I will be transparent and say that the evidence on the internet is mixed. The Origins website says that it does not test on animals except where required by law. If they sell in China, where animal testing is required, then they do in fact, test on animals. Their parent company, Estee Lauder is not cruelty-free, for what it’s worth.

Have any of you tried this product? What were your thoughts? Do you use eye creams? Which are your favorites? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I tend to only use eye creams in the morning, my eyes get super puffy. This product does help reduce the puffiness a lot. I don’t get dark circles, so I can’t really address that part, but it does help to brighten my eyes up.

      • Haha, yeah. I feel like it only helps when I’ve had a late night or just haven’t slept well. Then it helps me wake up! Otherwise I don’t reach for it. (Too expensive to use if you don’t need it!) 🙂

    • I’m glad you like it! Sometimes, like in this post, it can be hard to find a straight answer about whether a product is cruelty-free.

  2. this is my current eye cream. I finished this sample then bought the full size pot. I have to agree with you, this eye cream only brightens my eyes a little bit but can’t reduce my dark circles. Anyways it sinks into the eye skin very quick.

  3. Hi there I am so delighted I found your weblog, I really found
you by error, while I was researching on Google for something else, Nonetheless
I am here now and would just like to say cheers for a incredible post and a all round thrilling blog
(I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to read it all at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also included your RSS feeds, so when I have time I
will be back to read a lot more, Please do keep up the superb jo.

  4. I’ve also been using this eye cream (from a Sephora sample!) but haven’t seen results either. I tend to have dark circles but this cream didn’t brighten them for me. Recently I did a skin consultation at Kiehl’s and was told that the skin under my eyes was dry, too! I’m a little disappointed with the Origins Ginseng eye cream because their papaya “Never a Dull Moment” scrub is wonderful and their spot treatment gel is strong but effective.

  5. I’ve used the ROC Retinol eye cream (not sure of the exact name) for about 6mo. and I feel like it helped a little with dark circles and a good bit with fine lines.
I’ve had similar issues trying to figure out whether or not companies test on animals :/ I like to include it in my posts bc so many people are becoming more conscious of it, but it’s hard to get a straight answer!
