Hello lovelies. So in my quest for beautiful, healthy hair, I stumbled across this Sulfate-Free line of shampoo from Organix and picked up their Quenched Sea Mineral Moisture shampoo. What did I think of this and my sulfate-free experience in general? Keep reading to find out.
Why Sulfate-Free: Do a quick Google search and you will find many websites proclaiming the benefits of sulfate-free shampoo. Mainly, sulfate-free shampoo causes less frizz and helps color treated hair stay brighter longer. I’ve also heard that using a regular shampoo dries hair out which in turn causes the scalp to product more oil. In contrast, sulfate-free shampoos are gentler, meaning that they will strip your hair of less oil, making it more oily in the short-term, but ultimately less oily since your scalp will no longer be reacting to over-drying.
What I Thought of Organix: At first, I had to wash my hair more often. It was just too greasy. But after a few weeks, I’ve gotten back to my routine of washing it every few days. One hard adjustment is that this shampoo does not lather and sometimes, because of that I use a little more than usual (even though I don’t need to!)
Price: Between $5-$10 most places I’ve seen this.
Cruelty-Free: Yup, yup.
I loved the review! Thanks
Thank you!
Thanks for the review! I have been wanting to try a sulfate-free shampoo and it looks like I’ve found one!
Thanks for reading 🙂 It’s a very nice line
Loveeee the ORganix line! I’ve used each one except for this one lol i use the tea tree oil one and the moroccan/argan oil one…great for my hair!
I thought of trying the argan oil one, but I already deep condition with argan oil and didn’t want to overdo it lol
haha! 🙂
I use the ORganix shampoo as well. The moroccan/argan oil one makes my hair so soft. Nice review.
Thank you!
Never really thought of trying a sulfate free shampoo but with the benefits In the long term, I’m def considering picking this up. Great review thanks
Thanks for reading 😀
I used that a while ago and it is a miracle worker.. their line with argan oil also is awesome!!
Good to know. The argan oil sure seems popular 🙂
Sulfate AND Paraben free is the key. If you’re looking for an inexpensive line use the Herbal Essences Naked products. I use them on my daughter (I use the salon line Alterna Bamboo).Sulfates will destroy your hair color and the parabens are horrible for you. My stylist gave me this advice…use a quarter size of shampoo, and wash your scalp, that is the key. Then use the same amount of conditioner but only on the length of your hair and not on the scalp. Once you get in the habit of doing this, your hair shouldn’t be greasy so quickly, your hair and head will thank you. And you’ll notice your shampoo and conditioner last a lot longer 🙂
Thanks for the tip. What do parabens do?
They have found that parabens increase your estrogen levels which can lead to breast cancer. Parabens are found in a lot of beauty products, namely deodorants, makeup and hair care products. A lot of companies have started coming out with paraben free products because of this.
I never knew that! I’ll look out for it.
I recently stopped using Organix because they contain sulfates, so this is good to know!
Really? Mine says it’s sulfate-free. Maybe certain products in their line contain sulfates?
Ah, my bad! I stopped using them because they contain silicones!
Gotcha! I’m guessing silicones are also bad for your hair. What shampoo do you use? 🙂
I’m still learning about silicones, but I’ve read that they can produce build up. Not all kinds are bad though. I use Shea Moisture and the L’oreal sulfate and silicone-free line.

Why thank you miss Katie 😀
You’re very welcome 🙂
How would you describe the scent? I’ve been wanting to try something like this but I love my good smelling yet probably bad for my hair shampoos!
Umm, not very strong. I wouldn’t say it smells like anything in particular…just like shampoo. At least it doesn’t have a chemically scent.
Ok, thanks!
I had no idea organix had a sulfate-free shampoo. I’ll need to try it out. The sulfate free thing intrigues me because I am constantly dying my hair and it bothers me when it starts to fade. Thanks for the review.
I know! Of course I jump on the bandwagon when I haven’t dyed my hair in almost a year and have cut off most of the dyed part. lol
Good review! I like the L’Oreal EverPure sulfate-free shampoo & conditioner. Doesn’t fade my color and makes my hair feel super soft. I like the Ion brand one you can get at Sally Beauty as well. But I think in gonna have to give the Organix a try sometime. I saw Target carries it now.
Do they? I needed something in a pinch so I just grabbed it from the grocery store
Yep they do! I saw it at Target over the weekend. I think even Walmart carries it now as well.
Woohoo, good news for those of us who like to save a buck 😀

Thank you!
I’ve tried this brand before. Both shampoo and conditioner. I don’t remember why I never repurchased it… I think it might’ve been just because it didn’t last me very long. I do remember loving the smell!
I want to try so many things that sometimes I never get around to repurchasing products I like either.
I’ve been so curious about this!!
I’d recommend trying it if you get the chance!
Great. Cruelty free is a must; thank you
Yes, definitely!
