Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick Review

Hello everyone, hope everyone is making it through this week! If you remember wayyy back, I’ve reviewed Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks before and I wasn’t super impressed. However, after needing something orange for my rainbow makeup collaboration, I decided to give these another shot. So did I change my opinion? Keep reading to find out.

Just Peachy (l) and Purty Persimmon (r)

Color: The first shade I have is called Just Peachy. “Peach” is used to mean everything from nude to pink to orange in the beauty world, so I shade clarify a bit. This is a warm, pinky nude and pretty much what I think of when I think “peach.” The second color I got is Purty Persimmon. This is a bright true orange color. Both colors apply opaque and mostly matte.

Texture: Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the texture! To me, it is thick and a little crayon like. It can also be very drying on the lips.

Application: I think I mentioned in the last post I made about these that a lot depends on how well you condition your lips beforehand. When your lips are well conditioned these apply nicely enough, but don’t even think of applying these if you have dry lips. Just Peachy in particular will look super patchy.

Wear: Just Peachy lasts a solid 6 hours even though eating. Purty Persimmon is harder to describe because the red coloring in this lasts long after the rest of the lipstick disappears. This means that your lips will go from orange to a rosier red until that fades back into your natural lip color. I’d say the true color lasts about 6 hours and after that you get about two with a more muted red that is still semi-bright. This red stain that’s left will fade, but don’t bank on it fading completely until the next afternoon. What I’m saying is, don’t plan on wearing a nude lipstick the day after wearing Purty Persimmon.

Price: $1.50-$2 depending on where you pick it up

Cruelty-Free: Oh yes

So what do you think? Have you tried this before? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. The brighter one looks really nice on you! I know what you mean about texture. Its like the colors are perfect but because it is so cheap the quality suffers in the texture and comfort deparment. I wonder if you can mix it and make it a gloss.

  2. I totally agree. The colors are great and very pigmented. But definitely need to make sure your lips are hydrated and not chapped or it will cling to dry patches. I have purty persimmon and I love it 🙂 I usually put a tiny bit of gloss on top if its starting to get dry. But for the price you can’t beat the color.

  3. I love Wet n Wild colors (I have the orange color, too!), but it does feel matte or chalky, and can dry your lips out. I used my eos mint lip balm first, then applied the color, and then added a gloss. It turned out really nice and lasted through the day! Love it!

  4. I was considering buying one of these lipsticks and I am so glad I didn’t purchase them before reading this. I can’t stand any products that have a tendency to be drying. Lovely post! 🙂

  5. I love the peachy one. I’ve always clung to nude shades of lipstick because they suit me best but you’re wearing that orange one with class! ❤

      • Surprising as it is, V, I’ve discovered that pale nude pink tones work really well on us pale girls. And although it’s not really for me, you should really experiment with colour, glad to see you try new things and pull them off so well!
